GI Zoo Prices         Adult:              $14                                             Child under 12 : #

1. It cost the Naidoo family of 2 adults and 3 children $61 to go to the zoo. What is the missing price on the board?

2 x 14 = 28

61 - 28 = 33

33 ➗ 3 = $11 per child

2. For 4 days of the week the zoo has a concession for schools. $10 each for the first 100 children and then $12 each for the others. What would a school pay if there are 127 children?

10 x 100 = 1000

12 x 27 = 324

1000 + 324 = $1324

3. On a Friday evening  the zoo has a special rate for  school children:for every paid 7 children 2 get to go in free.  What would it cost a school with  147 children?

147 - 9 = 16 r3

16 x 7 = 112

112 x 11 = 1232

1232 + 33 = $1265

Sports Camp

13 days till sports camp Yay ( :

I'm really looking forward to Sports Camp because other people say they want to go again and again and again but they can’t. They say it’s one of the best Camps they've been to. This will be my first time and i'm really excited but scared at the same time.

We have been practicing since the beginning of term 2. We struggled a lot but now look how far we've come. We tried and worked hard and now we're almost there. Not even 2 more weeks to wait.

Now I'm really scared what if everything goes wrong? What if we lose a lot of games? But on the bright side I have Faith in us, we could win more trophies  than this school has ever won . All we need to do is really really try hard and have faith that we could win.

Candy Floss

On Wednesday 1th of July we got a candy floss machine that Skids donated to our school and we would like to thank them for it. But so far Our class and some of Room 11 had to make 300 packets of candy floss. We all had fun helping with the candy floss, it took a long time, but lucky we finish making 300 Candy Floss before school finished, It was fun.

  

Math's 3 July 2015

This Week Stage 6 had gone through Stage 6 Basic Facts. We were working over Stage 6 because Mrs Barry noticed we wrote the same wrong answers over and over again. So Mrs Barry called Stage 6 and helped us get all our answers correct. We worked most of the answers using place value. The next time we have Basic Facts hopefully  we will make it to Stage 7.

Maths

This week Mrs Barry called people that are on stage 6 in basic Facts over to the mat. We went through a lot of work on basic facts, we learnt our place value and how to subtract big numbers. Mrs Barry told  us how to do place value and we used place value in basic facts from 1- 30. Now I know my place value, it is getting easier for me.
